Lynchburg adjusts schedules as Hurricane Florence bears down

Lynchburg, Va. -- With Hurricane Florence posing a threat to the eastern seaboard, University of Lynchburg's athletic department has altered its competition schedule for the second half of this week to ensure the safety of its student-athletes and staff as the storm passes.

The Hornets' home contests for field hockey, men's soccer, and volleyball have all been cancelled or postponed.

Lynchburg's field hockey and men's soccer contests at Mary Washington on Wednesday, Sept. 12 have both been moved ahead to 2 p.m.

Lynchburg's women's soccer is still scheduled to head on its road trip to Sewanee, Tenn., over the weekend.

University of Lynchburg has canceled all Parents Weekend activities scheduled to occur on campus.

Any further changes to Lynchburg's athletic schedule will be posted as soon as possible on the LynchburgSports.com master calendar and noted on each team's schedule pages.
