Lynchburg, Va. -- A part in two Lynchburg College women's track records earned junior Samantha Schreiber this week's honor of Hornet of the Week.
At VMI's Keydet Invitational on Saturday, Schreiber broke her own school record in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:33.89 to race as the top Division III finisher in the field. The Gladys, Va. native also ran a leg of the distance medley relay with Endasia Mitchell, Natalie Deacon, and Michela Cholak, which broke the 13-year-old school record by almost 30 seconds, running the relay in 12:37.5.
Schreiber holds Lynchburg's records in both of those indoor events, the outdoor 3,000-meter Steeplechase, and the 6k cross country top time, which she set at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in 2017.
The Hornets will hit the track again this weekend, this time across town at Liberty University's Kickoff meet.
