Lynchburg, Va. -- After a week that included a .615 batting average and her first two collegiate home runs, freshman softball player Jordyne Vance took Hornet of the Week honors.
The Lynchburg, Va. native helped lead the Hornets to a 4-0 weekend with a breakout weekend at the plate. She went 8-for-13 over four games and slugged her first-career homer in Saturday’s win over Maryville in the Grand Slam Triangle Classic in North Carolina. Vance added another homer in a five-RBI day on Sunday.
After four starts in left field, Vance is hitting .600 on the season with two homers, eight RBI, and six runs scored.
