Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team put forth two of its best defensive efforts of the season last weekend, and it earned goalie CJ Santora the honor of Hornet of the Week.
A senior from Tewksbury, Mass., Santora made 22 saves in Lynchburg's two wins last weekend, stopping 73.3 percent of the shots-on-goal that went his way.
In the Hornets' 13-6 triumph over Stevenson, Santora made 13 saves and allowed just six balls past him. He also corraled a ground ball and caused a Mustang turnover. The following day versus Guilford, he saved nine shots and allowed just two goals in 38:36 minding the net. Santora added four ground balls to his tally in that win.
Santora is currently fifth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in saves with 121.
