Hornet of the Week: Evan Truman

Lynchburg, Va. – Evan Truman, a senior track and field athlete, backs up his ODAC Male Track Athlete of the Week award with being names this week's Hornet of the Week!

The Richmond, Virginia native took first place in the long jump with a personal best distance of 23' 0.75", while also helping to lead the 4x100 Meter Relay team to a 1st place finish of 42.22. His day of personal bests and top five finishes was not over yet, taking home 3rd place in the 100 Meter Dash (10.74) and 4th in the 200 Meter Dash (22.07), a race that he wasn't even sure if he'd run when the day started. Both times are personal bests for the Accounting Major.

The success of the Jack Toms Alumni Invitational comes on the heels of an improessive Indoor Track and Field season, where Truman finished 2nd in the 60 Meter Dash and 1st in the Long Jump at the ODAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The next stop for Truman and his teammates will be at the William and Mary Colonial Relays this Friday from Williamsburg, VA.
