Q&A With Hornet of the Week Brock Shiflett

The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The eighteenth student-athlete in this series is junior baseball player Brock Shiflett. Last weekend, he went 4-8 in two games. On Saturday, he went 2-4 with four RBI in Lynchburg's 8-6 comeback victory over Averett. Shiflett went 2-4 on Sunday at Greensboro, scoring once and knocking in another RBI for an early season total of five.

Why did you choose Lynchburg College?
I chose Lynchburg because I thought it was the best fit for me. My mom went here and my dad also played baseball here, and I thought it would've been cool to follow in their footsteps. Also, it is close enough to home so my parents and come to most of the home and away games.
What is your favorite moment thus far as a Hornet?
My favorite moment so far would probably have to be experiencing the ODAC tournament my freshman year.

What are your expectations for the season?
I think we have a strong team, and I think we can really open up some eyes once we start putting complete games together.

What do you like most about LC baseball?
I love the team because we are a family. We do everything together on and off the field. We have a great coaching staff and there is never a dull moment when we are all together.

What is your favorite class or teacher?
My favorite class is probably sport marketing with Dr. Hedrick.
What are your aspirations after graduation?
After college I hope to still be involved with baseball in some way. Also, I would love to join the MLE (Major League Eating). That would be so awesome.

What is your favorite thing about LC and this campus?
My favorite thing about this campus is how close everything is together and everything is in walking distance.
