Henderlite Leads Hornet All-ODAC Selections
FOREST, VA – The Lynchburg College baseball team received several Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors Friday, highlighted by sophomore Martin Henderlite's selection as ODAC Pitcher of the Year.
Henderlite was also named to the All-ODAC First Team for his efforts. Michael Kenah was named second-team shortstop, while Dan Savage and Brandon Miller were third-team third baseman and pitcher respectively.
The sophomore led the ODAC with eight wins and a 1.12 earned run average. His eight victories were tied for fourth in the nation. The sophomore compiled a streak of 25 consecutive scoreless innings over four starts from March 30 to April 20.
Kenah led the Hornets in the field with one of the top fielding percentages among ODAC shortstops, making only 10 errors in 201 chances. The senior led LC with 16 doubles and 26 RBI. His double total was fourth highest in the ODAC this year and eighth-best in LC history for a single season.
Savage had one of the best seasons in recent memory for Lynchburg. The senior batted .420, posting one of the highest averages in school history and the second-highest in the conference this season, while showing great defense.
Miller followed up a strong second season with a consistent sophomore campaign. Miller went 5-3 on the year with a 3.06 ERA. He struck out 43 batters and walked only 15 in 79 1/3 innings.
The Hornets finished the season with an overall record of 18-18-1, 8-11-1 in the ODAC.
