Hornet Baseball to Play "Home" Games this Weekend across Town

LYNCHBURG, VA – Fox Field is still not in playing shape after the winter storm that came through central Virginia last week so the Hornet baseball team will be playing three home games at a neutral location, just across town at Liberty University.

The agreement was announced Thursday that Liberty will open the doors to their brand new baseball stadium, constructed last year, for Lynchburg to play in this weekend.

The Hornets will host Oneonta State (0-0) Saturday for a doubleheader set to start at noon. Sunday's game against York (Pa.) College (0-0) has been pushed back an hour due to traffic concerns, and will start at 2 p.m.

This will mark the first time the Hornets have played in the Liberty Baseball Stadium and will present a change of surface as LU features field turf everywhere except the pitcher's mound.

Just like games at Fox Field, admission will be free for all three games at Liberty Baseball Stadium this weekend.
