Two More Hornets Named to National Team of the Week

LYNCHBURG, VA – Juniors Jay Kenyon and Rob Tomasulo were named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week for the week of March 10-16. It the the second week a Lynchburg Hornet has received the weekly honor.

Joe Rogers made the team as an outfielder for the week of February 17-23.

Kenyon, who made the team at catcher, hit his second home run over the past week to take the team lead and set a career high. He batted .455 on the week (10-for-22) and drove in 11 runs.

Tomasulo, who was named the designated hitter for the national team, was just as productive as Kenyon. The junior scored a team-leading 11 runs while batting .412. Tomasulo reached base at an incredible level, walking eight times to post a .630 on-base percentage.

The Hornets are posting very impressive numbers on the year, averaging 10.2 runs per game and batting .354 through the first 15 contests. All nine Hornets who have started at least 11 games are hitting .316 or higher.

Lynchburg is currently receiving votes in the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com top 25 polls.
