Dear Alumni and Friends,

Since the fall of 2008, the John P. Seamster '92 Memorial Golf Tournament has been held as a special occasion to remember and celebrate John's life, as well as raise support for the Lynchburg College baseball program – a sport he dearly loved and played while a student at LC. This year the LC Baseball program will host The 10th Annual John P. Seamster '92 Memorial Golf Tournament at the Colonial Hills Golf Course 1926 Gumtree Rd. Forest, Virginia, on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.

As most of you know, Coach Percy Abell retired from coaching, and I accepted the head coaching job this past June. I am honored to return home and back to my alma mater. My experiences here as a student-athlete have never left and I look forward to giving back to a place that has given me so much. This golf tournament is a staple for our program as we continue its growth through your generosity and support. Most importantly, this day is about remembering one of our own, John Seamster, and the life he lived. The program is honored to continue this great tradition. John's life and passion for the sport we all love is the backbone of LC Baseball and what we work so hard for every day. Thanks to John's family for allowing us to share his memory.

This has always been a great time of year because this event works simultaneously with our Alumni Weekend and the Athletic Hall of Fame inductions.  We are proud that two of our baseball alumni, Anthony Palmisano '04 and Shawn Abell '05 will be inducted into this year's Hall of Fame class. This recognition highlights their great careers and the wonderful baseball program they represented.

The enclosed flyer provides details about this year's golf tournament. We invite your participation, and we hope you will encourage others to participate in this meaningful event by entering a team, being a tournament sponsor, or by providing a prize. Lunch will be provided, and you will not want to miss the chance to win a variety of prizes.

We look forward to seeing you on Oct. 20. I hope you will consider spending your time with us on that day  Please feel free to contact any one of us if you have questions or need further information.

Very sincerely,
