Senior cheerleader Miranda Mitchell is this week's Hornet of the Week. "Miranda is a first year senior who brings optimism, drive, determination, and precision to the team," said LC head coach Amanda Dean. "She is a model cheerleader in both skills and attitude as well as a valued member of the student body at Lynchburg College."
The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The 16th student-athlete selected this year is cheerleading sophomore Malinda Martin.
Earlier this month, the Lynchburg College cheerleading team participated in Mental Health America of Central Virginia’s Annual Walk for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention held at Oakwood Country Club.
The Lynchburg College cheerleading team volunteered to work with the athletes competing in the annual Special Olympics Track and Field event on April 13. The Hornet cheerleaders were partnered with Special Olympics athletes to support them as they competed in individual events.
The 2012-13 Lynchburg College men’s and women’s basketball programs had their coming out parties Friday night as part of Midnight Madness. The two hour kick-off to the season also introduced LC to this year’s cheer squad.
