Q and A with Hornet of the Week Morgan Lammando
The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The third student-athlete selected this year is women's field hockey sophomore Morgan Lammando.
Lammando tied a career-high over the weekend with three points against Wesley College in a 3-1 win. This is just the third time she has hit the three-point plateau in her career. She scored the first goal of the game and assisted on the game-winning tally to lift the #13 Hornets to a 3-2 record.
You tied a career high in points in a game (3, goal and assist) against Wesley. How did your performance help the team get a tough win on the road?
I think what is best about our group is that it is always a whole team effort. Being tied at half time was tough but we knew that we would have to come out a lot more aggressive in the second half and we did. I was in the right place at the right time to score and I got a great pass from my teammate in order to put the ball in the cage.
What is your favorite thing about Lynchburg field hockey?
My favorite thing about LCFH is that we are more of a family than just a team. I love the girls on our team and playing and winning with them is one of the best things about my college experience so far.
What do you like most about Lynchburg College?
I like how academically oriented we are. In the end, I'm here to get an education. Playing field hockey is an added bonus.
How do you think being a student-athlete has affected you personally?
Being a student athlete has helped me make some of my best friends in college as well as with time management and keeping me on track with school work.
