LC Field Hockey Topples Shenandoah 5-0
WINCHESTER, VA – The 16th-ranked Lynchburg College field hockey team traveled to compete against Shenandoah University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Friday and took a 5-0 decisive victory on the road.
LC came out strong in the game, scoring the only two goals of the first half. The first goal of the game came at 24:20 when senior Kelli Williams fired the ball into the back of the cage off of an assist by senior Nicole Marburger. Just four minutes later, the Hornets advanced the score to 2-0 after a goal by sophomore Catherine Rogerson assisted by Williams.
The second half was much the same as the first for Lynchburg. The Hornet women tallied three goals, with two scores from Williams and one from Katie Kline. Meredith Bradsher, Kelsey Link and Kayla Krause each tallied assists on the goals.
Senior Jordan Seeley played a flawless 62:30 in goal for LC, allowing no goals and saving four balls. Sarah Clare played all 70:00 at goalie for Shenandoah (4-6/0-1 ODAC) and recorded 11 saves.
The LC Hornets (6-2/2-0 ODAC) will be back in action on Sunday, as they travel to face Lebanon Valley in a non-conference matchup at noon.
