Hornets Fall Short in 3-0 Loss to Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, PA – Lebanon Valley College scored two early goals and added another late to defeat the 16th-ranked Lynchburg College field hockey team 3-0 Sunday afternoon.

The Dutchmen took control of the game just over one minute in as Kelsey Heck scored at the 1:27 mark off an assist by Lyndee Sheaffer.

Lebanon Valley continued to put pressure on the Hornet defense, forcing Jordan Seeley into five saves in the first half. Molly Van Leuvan broke through once more for the Dutchmen with the second goal of the game thanks to another Sheaffer assist.

The score remained 2-0 until the 68th minute when Van Leuvan found Laura James for the insurance goal, making the score 3-0 with her blast from the left side.

Chloe Baro had 10 saves for Lebanon Valley (4-6). The Hornets doubled Lebanon Valley with 12 penalty corners to the Dutchmen's six.

Lynchburg (6-3) hosts #8 University of Mary Washington (9-0) in non-conference action Wednesday at 6 p.m.
