Forest, Va. -- University of Lynchburg senior Nikki Simpao (Stafford, Va.) earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's field hockey player of the week award, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Simpao, a two-time All-American and former ODAC player of the year, scored three goals and made an assist in the Hornets' 1-1 week. She scored twice and assisted Lynchburg's third goal in a 3-1 win over Roanoke on Wednesday, and Simpao accounted for half the team's scoring in a 3-2 defeat at York Saturday.

The forward currently sits tied atop the league leaderboard in goals with nine and leads the ODAC with 52 shots.

The weekly award is Simpao's first of the season and fourth of her career.
