Manhattanville College All-Tournament Team
2012-13: Finished a very solid career…Played all three forward positions this year and started every game on the season…Had his best averages of his career, with 10 points and five rebounds a game…Was named to the Manhattanville College All-Tournament Team after averaging 13.5 points and four rebounds a game in the tourney…The athletic senior will be missed, not only for his versatility and three-point shooting, but his ability to lighten the mood in the locker room.
2011-12: Continued his strong career with a solid third season…started six games on the year and was the first forward off the bench when not starting…averaged 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game…registered a double-double in a win at Mt. Aloysius College with 12 points and 13 rebounds…played his best against some of the toughest competition…shot 7-10 from the field and scored 16 points in a loss at Division I Coastal Carolina University…came up huge in the win against Randolph College on Senior Day, scoring nine points and grabbing 11 rebounds...will be expected to have an enormous senior season for the Hornets.
2010-11: Followed a solid freshman campaign with a good sophomore season…one of the most athletic players with a lot of potential for the next two seasons…played in 22 games and started one contest…averaged 4.4 points per game and 4 rebounds per game while shooting 52.1% from the floor and 53.3% from three point range…hit a three-point shot as time expired to send the game into double overtime while scoring 17 points and grabbing six rebounds against Christopher Newport.
2009-10: Showed a vast amount of potential due to his elite athleticism ... played in 27 games while averaging 4.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 14.7 minutes a game while shooting 58% from the floor ... recorded 20 points and seven rebounds, going 8-9 from the floor with a dunk, against ODAC Regular Season Champion Eastern Mennonite ... had two strong games against D1 opponents - posted 13 points and six rebounds against Radford and nine points and 11 boards vs. VMI ... narrowly missed out on a double-double against Maryland Bible (8 points, 11 rebounds) and Christopher Newport (9 points, 9 caroms) ... also tallied 11 points vs. Hampden-Sydney and 10 against Virginia Wesleyan.
Before LC: A one year starter for the Dragons of William Monroe ... averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals ... played in the Jefferson District.
Personal: Michael is the son of Garve and Letitia Wims...has one brother, Matthew... Father played basketball in college.
