St. Mary's City, Md. -- Junior forward Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) exploded for 22 points and eight rebounds, sophomore guard Chance Greene (Creedmoor, N.C.) dumped in 21 points off the bench, and Lynchburg College's men's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 106-95 road victory over St. Mary's College of Maryland.
LC had its best shooting performance of the young season, making 47.4 percent of its 3-point attempts (18-for-38) and shooting 96.3 percent (26-for-27) from the free throw stripe. The team's 18 3-pointers tied a single-game program record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lynchburg trailed, 54-52, after a full-throttle first half, but the Hornets took control early in the second. Schroeder's 3-pointer with 15:08 put LC up 70-68, and the visitors never trailed again.
- The Seahawks cut the lead to 84-83 with 7:40 to go, but Schroeder nailed another 3 to spark a 7-0 run and give Lynchburg the separation it needed.
- Devante' Young (Charlotte, N.C.) dished out eight assists to go with 16 points. Both were career-highs for Lynchburg's junior point guard.
- Greene's 21 points was also a career-high, and the sophomore went 10-for-10 from the line. Fourteen of Schroeder's 22 points came in the second half.
LC will return home on Tuesday, Nov. 21 for a the Hornets' home opener against soon-to-be Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Ferrum College. LC and the Panthers will tip off at 4 p.m.
