Men's basketball rallies past UW-La Crosse

Gallatin, Tenn. -- Lynchburg College's men's basketball team overcame a halftime deficit to handle business against Wisconsin-La Crosse, 86-75, in a Saturday evening matchup at the Music City Classic at Volunteer State Community College.

Junior forward Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) scored 20 points to go with five rebounds to lead the way for Lynchburg, and Chance Greene (Creedmoor, N.C.), Jesse Case (Leesburg, Va.), and Devante' Young (Charlotte, N.C.) all scored in double figures as well.

Taulvish McCray led the Eagles with 20 points.

Records: Lynchburg 6-5, Wisconsin-La Crosse 8-3

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Lynchburg led by as many as six points in the first half before the Eagles made a run late in the period to lead by four at halftime. Schroeder and Greene led LC with seven points each in the half.

- The Hornets used a 13-2 run midway through the second to take the lead, and Lynchburg nailed key free throws at the end to seal the win.

- Schroeder led a hot free-throw shooting night for LC, going 10-for-11 from the line. Greene went 8-for-8 on free throws.

 

LOOKING AHEAD

Lynchburg will return to Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at home when the Hornets play host to Washington and Lee University. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
