DANVILLE, VA – The Lynchburg College golf team finished tied for sixth Sunday at the two-day 64th Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) Intercollegiate Championship at the Danville Golf Club.

Freshman Colby Francis shot a 76 on Sunday to finish with a two-round score of 150 to tie for 13th place. Matthew Lipscomb and Santiago Anguera each shot 75s on Sunday, and Scott Stevens carded an 83. Chad Wisecarver finished with an 84.

Averett University won the team title with 585 strokes overall, with Bridgewater College in second with 598. LC had a combined total of 624 to tie with Roanoke College.

John Dozier III from Virginia Wesleyan College won the individual medal by finishing three strokes under par with a 68-69-137.

The Hornets are off until October 22-23, when they conclude their fall season at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial in Greensboro, NC, held at the Cardinal Golf & Country Club.
