Q and A with Hornet of the Week Adam Davey

Q and A with Hornet of the Week Adam Davey

The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The 33rd student-athlete selected this year is men's lacrosse sophomore Adam Davey.

Adam came up huge last week, as Lynchburg won twice in the NCAA tournament to advance to the national quarterfinals.  When LC was making the fourth quarter comeback against St. Mary's, Adam stopped three shots that saved the game.  Against Roanoke, he made 15 saves to preserve the win over the Hornets conference rival.

What is your favorite moment thus far as a Hornet?

My favorite moment so far as a Hornet had to be our win over Roanoke on Saturday. It was nice to win, but even better to be able to beat a conference rival who we had previously lost to in a huge game like that.

What do you like most about LC men's lacrosse?

I like most about the men's lacrosse team is that we are such a close unit. As soon as I stepped on campus as a freshman I had 50 guys who had my back and were looking out for me. The team this year is just as close if not closer than last year and it's making this tournament run that much more special.

How did it feel to win your first two NCAA tournament starts in net?

Winning my first two NCAA games is a great feeling, especially after we lost in the ODAC tournament. However, I know that I and no one else on this team is satisfied with two tournament wins. We want to get to our ultimate goal of winning a national championship.

How did athletics affect your decision to attend Lynchburg College?

Athletics affected my decision to come to Lynchburg in a big way. Obviously having my brother here and on the team is a huge bonus and an experience that will never be forgotten. However, Coach Koudelka and the coaching staff had an immediate impact on me when I came to visit here and I knew this was a program that was a perfect fit for me. I knew what I wanted to accomplish as a player as well as a student and it was very possible at Lynchburg College.
