Perry, N.Y. - Three Hornet Men's Lacrosse student-athletes garnered USILA/Nike All-American honors Thursday afternoon after a run to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Senior Cole Barrett earned third team All-American honors, adding to his USILA/Nike All-Star game selection and first team All-ODAC honors. A catalyst for the Lynchburg defense and a vocal and physical presence, Barrett was given the task of guarding some of the best attackers in the nation. The defenseman collected 39 ground balls and caused the second most turnovers on the team with 23, both of which were career-highs for the economics graduate.
Sophomore Evan Lombardo picked up All-American honorable mention honors to go along with being named first team All-ODAC after totaling 75 points on 61 goals and 14 assists at attack. The Franklin Park, NJ native led the ODAC in goals scored and had nine points on eight goals and an assist in three NCAA Tournament games.
Junior CJ Santora earned All-American honorable mention honors while holding 9.72 goals against average (GAA) and 56.4% save percentage (SV%). The Tewksbury, Mass. native started all 22 games between the pipes for the Hornets while being the anchor on defense during the NCAA Tournament run.
