Dickinson to play host to men's lacrosse in NCAAs

Indianapolis, Ind. -- The Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team learned its NCAA Division III tournament draw Sunday evening during the NCAA's selection show; the Hornets will be headed to Carlisle, Pa., and No. 9 Dickinson College for a second-round contest on Wednesday, May 9 at 4 p.m. The Hornets have received a bye in the first round of the 36-team tournament.

Dickinson enters the tournament with a 15-3 record, and the Red Devils are fresh off a Centennial Conference championship.

Lynchburg (12-8), the 2018 Old Dominion Athletic Conference champion, will appear in the tournament for the seventh consecutive year. The Hornets have won at least one NCAA tournament game four of the past five seasons.

Lynchburg is 4-0 against Dickinson all-time, the most recent victory coming March 22, 2015 by a 14-9 score.

Gates at the Red Devils' Biddle Field will open at 3 p.m. for Wednesday's contest, and tickets will be sold on site. There will be no advance ticket sales. For those who cannot make the trip, Dickinson will be providing a live video webcast.
