Men's lacrosse's McGuire to play in North-South Game

Providence, R.I. -- Lynchburg College men's lacrosse senior Colin McGuire (Odenton, Md.) was selected to play in the 77th Annual USILA/Nike North-South Division III Senior All-Star Game, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced Tuesday evening.

McGuire, a midfielder, will be one of four Old Dominion Athletic Conference players to represent the league. He ranked second on the Hornets with 32 assists in 2018, and his 36 goals ranked fourth on the Lynchburg squad.

A first-team All-ODAC pick and member of the league's all-tournament team, McGuire finished the season on a strong note with 18 goals in the final five games of the year. He finished his Lynchburg career with goals in each of his last 15 contests.

LC has sent players to the North-South Game in each of the past three seasons and 13 of the last 15 campaigns.

Berry College coach Curtis Gilbert will coach the South squad, while Bowdoin College's Jason Archbell will mentor the North team.

The Division III players will take Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College in Providence, R.I., on Friday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m., with the Division I/II game to follow at 7:30 p.m. There is no charge for admission.
