Lynchburg College Gets Hot in H'burg, Freshmen Bring Down Royals

HARRISONBURG, VA—Lynchburg College men's soccer has been looking to break out for several games. It happened Saturday night as the Hornets took down Eastern Mennonite 3-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

Freshman midfielder Daniel Jobrack got the scoring started at 20:23. The ball was bouncing around loose in front of the net and before it could be corralled by EMU keeper Andrew Yoder, Jobrack collected the ball and sent it into the back of the net for the early lead.

The Hornets scored again in the second period with more help from Jobrack. Junior Chaz Ashton scored his second goal of the season off a ball that Jobrack placed in front of the goal to give LC a 2-0 lead and a much needed insurance goal. Jobrack's goal and assist were the first points of his LC career.

Freshman Tajee Harley finished the scoring at 63:07 with his second goal of the season off an assist from fellow freshman Frankie Winski. The assist was Winski's first career point.

Lynchburg outshot the Royals 22-7 and had a 4-2 advantage in corners.

Yoder made six saves for EMU (7-8-1/4-4 ODAC).

Lynchburg (4-6-4/3-1-4 ODAC) plays at Guilford Wednesday, October 17 in its last road conference match.
