Hornets Battle in Double OT; Tie Greensboro 0-0

GREENSBORO, NC – The Lynchburg College men's soccer team faced off against non-conference opponent Greensboro College on Wednesday and came home with a 0-0 tie after battling through double overtime.

Both teams put forth a strong defensive effort throughout the scoreless game. The Hornets had a shot total of 12, while the Pride shot a total of 14 balls. Greensboro was able to get off four shots in the second overtime period, but the Hornet defense came through and would not allow any goals.

Senior Jonathan Sheffield played all 110 minutes in goal, and led the defensive effort by saving five shots. Logan Rohde recorded two saves for the Pride.

Lynchburg (1-2-1) will travel to Howison Park in Woodbridge, VA on Wednesday, September 18 when they will compete against Salisbury University in another non-conference match.
