Q and A with Hornet of the Week Tim Clancy
The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The ninth student-athlete selected this year is men's soccer sophomore Tim Clancy.
Clancy put together a solid showing in leading the men's soccer team to a 2-0 record last week. The sophomore from Stafford, Virginia, Clancy scored the first goal against then-ranked #15 Randolph College to give the WildCats their first loss of the season. He continued his offensive display with a pair of goals at Emory & Henry College on Saturday.
You are coming off a great week offensively, including the first goal against then-#15 Randolph College. What did that early 1-0 lead mean to you, the team, and the fans that came out to support?
Scoring early really gave the team the motivation we needed to pull off the win. The fans were a huge influence on the team as well. They kept us in the game even when Randolph put two goals away on us.
What is your favorite thing about Lynchburg men's soccer?
I really enjoy how close the team is and how well we play together.
What do you like most about Lynchburg College?
One of the things I enjoy most about Lynchburg is our home field. I love how it is in the center of campus.
You guys really seem to be hitting your stride now. How is that going to help LC as it approaches the ODAC Tournament?
I think we're heating up at a great time, especially after our win against Randolph. Coming off that big win gives us the momentum we need to go through the tournament game by game and be successful.
