LC Men's Tennis Loses a Close One to Southern Virginia 6-3

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team faced off against a tough opponent in Southern Virginia University on Thursday and had a good showing, only losing to the Knights (13-1) 6-3.

Freshmen Casey Vines and Christian Golden teamed up to get an 8-6 win at #3 doubles. Sophomore Matt Karvelas took #1 singles by winning 2-6, 7-6 (2) 6-4 in a hard fought match, while junior Cody Crampton competed well at #3 singles, winning 6-3, 6-4. Junior Derek Kegerreis and Karvelas put on a good showing at #1 doubles losing only 8-5 and junior Owen Landon and Crampton competed well as a team dropping a 8-6 decision at #2 doubles.

The Hornet men (3-13/0-9 ODAC) will be back in action on Saturday at 10 a.m. in their final match of the year to face off against Division I opponent Longwood University on the LC Courts.
