Hornet Men's Tennis Defeated by Guilford 7-2

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's tennis team competed against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Guilford College at home on Saturday and lost 7-2.

Tyler Long and Matt Karvelas were successful at #3 doubles, winning 8-4, while Derek Kegerreis and Owen Landon teamed up at #1 singles and were able to win five games.

Karvelas also competed at the #1 singles spot and won a grueling 7-6(9), 6-3 match over Guilford's Turner Votipka. Kegerreis played at #2 singles as well and was able to two games in the first set and five games in the second, while Landon won five games overall at #3 singles. Josh Johnson competed hard at #4 singles, winning three games in both sets, and Long captured five games at the #5 singles spot.

The LC men (4-6/1-5 ODAC) will be back in action on Sunday when they will travel to face Virginia Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m. in ODAC play.
