Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference loss to rival Hampden-Sydney Wednesday afternoon at home.

Sablik dispatched the Tigers' William Driskill at No. 2 in dominating 6-2, 6-3 fashion, while Shane fought back after dropping the first set at No. 5 to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 against H-SC's Levy Young.

H-SC swept through the doubles competition, though Shane and junior Nick Savino (Bristol, Conn.) nearly took the point at No. 2. The pair led early on only to fall, 9-8, dropping the tiebreaker, 7-5.

Sophomore Juan Borga (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA) had a good showing at No. 1 singles, battling back from a first-set defeat to win the second, only to fall in the tiebreaker.

Lynchburg (5-9, 1-5 ODAC) remains home to finish the season with a five-match homestand, the next of which will come tomorrow, Thursday, April 19 versus Roanoke. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the LC Tennis Courts.
