Lynchburg, Va. -- Lynchburg College's men's tennis team enters the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 6 seed and will head to third-seeded Hampden-Sydney for a 2 p.m. quarterfinal match Wednesday.
The match's winner will head to Virginia Wesleyan University in Virginia Beach, Va., for the weekend and will face the victor of Wednesday's match between second-seeded Guilford and seventh-seeded Randolph-Macon. Winners between No. 1 seed Washington and Lee and eighth-seeded Shenandoah and No. 4-seeded Virginia Wesleyan and fifth-seeded Bridgewater will square off in the other semifinal Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets (9-9) are looking to reach the conference semifinals for the first time since the tournament shifted to the dual format in 2007.
LC is riding a four match winning streak entering tournament play, with wins over Roanoke, Shenandoah, Emory & Henry, and Randolph-Macon in that stretch. The Hornets' nine wins are the most for the program since the 2003 season.
