LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's indoor track and field team captured its 14th-straight indoor track and field title Friday at the 2010-11 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships, hosted by LC at Liberty University.  The Hornets had 163 points for the meet, followed by Washington & Lee University with 78, Bridgewater College with 67.5 and Guilford College with 60. 

First-year LC mentor Doug Thomasey earned the ODAC Coach of the Year Award. W&L's Alexander Tallman took home Athlete of the Meet and Freshman of the year honors and teammate David Doobin was named the conference's men's indoor track scholar-athlete of the year.

Junior James Bell won two events for LC, the high jump (6'02") and the pole vault (15-05") and finished second in the long jump with a leap of 6.31 meters and was also third in the 55-meter hurdles in 7.98. James Carney was second in the high jump, while Hornets Joe Oliveri and Nathan Curtis finished second and third in the pole vault.

Senior John Michael Pavia won the weight throw with a toss of 56'05.75" and Ralph Davis took third. Pavia also won the shot put later in the day with a throw of 46'10" for his second individual conference crown. Rachad Davis finished first in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.80 while KeDarrius Bruce finished second with a leap of 44'04.75" in the triple jump.

Ryan Van Alstine won the mile race, finishing in 4:22.14. Lawrence Minor finished fourth with a time of 4:26 and Nolan Compton was fifth in 4:26.85. Compton also placed fifth in the 800 meters in 2:00.95. Dakota Pellman took third in the 400-meter dash, posting a mark of 52.51 and Evan Ellison finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.20.

Cody Stanton finished third with a time of 15:41.69 in the 5000 meter run.
