New Orleans, La. -- Seven Lynchburg College indoor track & field athletes combined for 11 USTFCCCA All-South/Southeast Region nods in the 2017-18 season, the organization announced this week.

It's the most all-region honors in the program's storied history.

Graduate student Natalie Deacon (West Chester, Pa.) led the way with three individual all-region marks -- in the 800-meter run, the 1-mile run, and the 3,000-meter run -- and a nod on the Hornet women's distance medley relay.

Juniors Endasia Mitchell (Perry Hall, Md.) and Samantha Schreiber (Gladys, Va.) and sophomore Michela Cholak (Ocean Township, N.J.) joined Deacon on the DMR. Mitchell also earned a nod for her ODAC championship-winning 400-meter dash.

Junior pole vaulter Madeline Van Aken (Blacksburg, Va.) also merited the honor.

For the men, junior Randy Harris (Richmond, Va.) made a quick mark on the program since transferring to LC in January, earning the honor in the triple jump, and junior Dalton Hoppe (Buchanan, Va.) was all-region in the weight throw.

The indoor season will continue this weekend in Birmingham, Ala., for Deacon, who has qualified for the Division III national meet in the 1-mile; she earned All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the event last year.

The rest of the Hornets will travel to UNC Wilmington's Seahawk Invitational this weekend to open up the outdoor portion of the schedule.

The USTFCCCA extends all-region honors to the top five individual marks and the top three relay times throughout the season. The South/Southeast Region reaches from Virginia to Texas.
