The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The 17th student-athlete selected this year is women's basketball sophomore Katie Reeves.
Katie had one of her best weeks in a Hornet uniform. She scored a career-high 18 points in the midweek win over Roanoke College, including shooting 4-7 from beyond the arc. The win was the first for LC at Roanoke since the two schools began playing regularly in the 1979-1980 season. In the loss to Eastern Mennonite University, Katie led the team in scoring with 13 points.
What is your favorite moment thus far as a Hornet?
My favorite moment so far was when we won against Roanoke College. It was one thing that I achieved my career high in points, but we also changed LCWB history and it was an amazing feeling to contribute to that.
What do you like most about LC women's basketball?
The LCWB team is more than a team, it is a family and building relationships with these people has been a great experience.
How did the women's basketball team affect your decision to attend Lynchburg College?
The basketball team I would be playing for had the biggest impact on my decision.
What are your aspirations after graduation?
I am majoring in sports management but I have not narrowed down exactly which field I would like to get into.
