LYNCHBURG, VA - Lynchburg College's Shannon Allan was named to the 2012-13 Women's Basketball College Division All-State first-team Wednesday, as selected by the Virginia State Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Allan also earned first-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) accolades after an outstanding sophomore campaign. The forward from Warwick, New York was second in the conference at 17.9 points per game. She surpassed the 20-point mark ten times this season, as well as setting her career-high twice this year, including a 33-point outburst against Randolph-Macon College in the regular season finale.

She also led the ODAC in free throw percentage (88%) and was fifth in three-point percentage (35.6%). Her 1.5 blocks and 6.5 rebounds per game rank her third and 13th in the conference, respectively.

The Hornets finished the season with an 18-10 record and earned the program's first appearance in the ODAC Tournament semifinals since the 1989-90 campaign.

Marymount University senior Katelyn Fischer was voted as the State Player of the Year. Randolph-Macon College guard Katie Anderson earned VaSID Rookie of the Year accolades, while Christopher Newport University first-year head boss Bill Broderick took home Coach of the Year honors.
