LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College junior Shannon Allan was recently named an honorable mention to the 2013-14 women's basketball Pre-Season All-American Team.

Three student-athletes from each of eight regions were named to the team, along with 27 honorable mentions.

Allan also earned first-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and All-State accolades after an outstanding sophomore campaign. The forward from Warwick, New York was second in the conference at 17.9 points per game. She surpassed the 20-point mark 10 times, and set her career-high twice, including a 33-point outburst against Randolph-Macon College in the regular season finale.

She also led the ODAC in free throw percentage (88%) and was fifth in three-point percentage (35.6%). Her 1.5 blocks and 6.5 rebounds per game rank her third and 13th in the conference, respectively.

The Hornets finished the season with an 18-10 record and earned the program's first appearance in the ODAC Tournament semifinals since the 1989-90 campaign.
