Lynchburg Women's Basketball split a pair of games at the Randolph-Macon Tip-Off Classic this past weekend. The Hornets soundly defeated the Pride of Greensboro College, 70-33, after the defense went into lockdown mode and the offense had their way in the paint, outrebounding and outscoring Greensboro. Sophomore Molly Shephard scored 15 points off the bench for the second straight game while also grabbing five rebounds and notching her second consecutive 10+ point game, senior Charmaine Hairston had the hot hand on offense and defense after shooting 62.5% from the floor and recording three steals.

The Hornets fought hard but lost the second game on Saturday to #11 Albright, 64-56. The Lions shot nearly 50% from beyond the arc and held off a late charge by the Hornets to earn the victory. Sophomore Molly Shephard scored 13 points and snagged seven rebounds and is the Hornets offensive leader in their first three games, averaging 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. Junior Olivia DeFrancesco was one rebound shy of recording a double-double as she drained four shots, three from beyond the arc, for 14 points while securing nine rebounds.
