Lesley Buckingham Scores Seven as LC Defeats Greensboro 18-6

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior attack Lesley Buckingham scored seven times and handed out two assists Wednesday night as the Lynchburg college women's lacrosse team defeated Greensboro College 18-6 in non-conference play.

The game was tied at two-all early, but the Hornets rattled off 15 of the next 18 goals to take a commanding 17-5 at intermission. LC slowed the game down in the second half, with only two goals and 12 shots in the final 30 minutes.

Junior attack Kendall Adkin netted four scores and had a game-high three assists. Junior midfielder Sarah Shannon posted two goals and an assist and sophomore Bri Slate had a goal and two assists. Junior Julie Will and freshman Abby Sard each had one goal and one assist, and Katie Seidel and Carly Dobson each had one goal. Shannon and Will each gathered in four draw controls.

Brittany Ziobro scored four times and had two assists for the Pride (4-8). Melissa Gallaher won seven draw controls, and added three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

The Hornets (7-4) host Guilford College Saturday at 4 p.m. in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game. The three Hornet seniors will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
