LC Women's Lacrosse Honored by IWLCA

GRAND LAKE, CO – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently released the Academic Squad honors for the 2012 season, and Lynchburg College found a place on the list.  These honors are bestowed to teams with an overall grade-point average of over 3.0.

For 2012, the IWLCA named 61 teams out of the 216 total teams in Division on the list.  LC was one of three Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) teams given Academic Squad honors.  This is the third year in the row the Hornets have been on the list.

"We are excited to receive this award, our coaching staff and players have made great strides in improving our team grade-point average the last few years," said head coach Bruce Reid. "This shows the hard work and commitment of all of our student-athletes and the coaching staff."

Lynchburg finished last year 11-7 overall and 7-2 in the ODAC.  LC tied for second in the ODAC and finished with the third seed in the tournament.
