LC Women's Lacrosse's Will and Dobson Honored by IWLCA

GRAND LAKE, CO – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently released its Scholar-Athlete Academic Honor Roll for the 2012 season. Making the list were Lynchburg College's Julie Will and Carley Dobson. The roll consists of 246 student-athletes of junior standing or higher from 94 different colleges and universities.

Will, majoring in mathematics, scored 31 goals for the Hornets to go along with eight assists and her team-leading 40 ground balls. She was named First-Team All-ODAC.

Dobson is majoring in public relations. She appeared in 16 games, scoring 17 points including a four-goal performance in the first round of the ODAC tournament.

"We are proud of Carley's and Julie's commitment to academics," Coach Bruce Reid said. "Their hard work in the classroom combined with what they do on the field say a lot about the types of athletes we bring in."

The Hornets finished the 2012 season with a record of 11-7 (7-2 ODAC) before falling in the conference semifinals by one goal.
