Hornet Women's Lacrosse Opens with 13-6 win over Greensboro

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the game and cruised to a 13-6 victory Saturday over visiting Greensboro College in non-conference play.

Senior Kendall Adkin and junior Caroline Kilby each had two scores before freshman Katherine Francis scored three-straight times for the 7-0 lead with 3:32 left in the half. LC went into halftime ahead 9-1, and the visiting Pride scored five of their six goals after intermission.

Francis scored four times and had one assist, while Adkin and senior Julie Will each had three goals and one assist. Alyssa Rossi scored once for LC. Francis snared a game-high 12 draw controls and also had a team-best three caused turnovers. Will paced LC with four ground balls.

Brittany Ziobro had two goals and an assist for the Pride (0-2). Alexa Besch had two scores.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Greensboro today, but due to unplayable conditions, the game was moved to LC.

Lynchburg (1-0) hosts Christopher Newport University Saturday at 4 p.m.
