LaMarca Named to All-Region Team

GRAND LAKE, CO – On Thursday the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the All-Region honorees, and Lynchburg College defender Brianna LaMarca was named to the All-Chesapeake Region Second-Team, which gives her a back-to-back selection on the team.

LaMarca, who was named to the All-ODAC First-Team on Tuesday, was one of the top defenders in the conference this year.  She routinely guarded the opponent's best player, while accumulating impressive statistics.  LaMarca tied for third on the team in groundballs, scooping up 29 on the year, only two behind the leader.  She added 20 caused turnovers, which was good for second on the team, and she corralled three draw controls, which is difficult for defenders who stay on the back line.  LaMarca also added one goal this year, the second of her career.

The Hornets finished the season with an overall record of 9-8, finishing with the fifth-seed in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament.
