#3 Guilford Defeats Lynchburg Women's Lax 20-9 in ODAC Tourney

GREENSBORO, NC – Lily Colley posted six goals and four assists as the third-seeded Guilford College women's lacrosse team defeated #6 Lynchburg College 20-9 Wednesday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match-up.

The Hornets kept within striking distance in the first half, and trailed just 10-6 at intermission. GC opened a 13-7 advantage in the second half, but goals by seniors Bri Slate and Caroline Kilby brought LC within four (13-9) with 17:12 on the game clock. The remainder of the game was all Guilford, as the Quakers netted the last seven goals.

Kilby and Katherine Francis each had two scores each for LC, and Caroline Carozza had a goal and an assist. Laura Meisner and Ryland Scott also found the back of net for LC. Scott garnered three draw controls, Grace Finnerty scooped three ground balls and caused two turnovers and Brianna LaMarca caused three turnovers.   

E'leyna Garcia had seven goals for the Quakers, and also tallied five draw controls. Eleanora Keene had a hat trick and collected nine draw controls.

Guilford (11-6) travels to face second-seeded Shenandoah University in the semifinals of the ODAC Tourney Saturday.

The Hornets end the 2014 season with a 7-9 record.
