LC Women's Lacrosse Has Five Honored by IWLCA

GRAND LAKE, CO – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently released its Scholar-Athlete Academic Honor Roll for the 2014 season. Making the list were Lynchburg College's Bri Slate, Alyssa Rossi, Hailey Bossert, Shannon Brockley and Paige Gadsby. The roll consists of 738 student-athletes of junior standing or higher from 162 different colleges and universities.

Slate, a nursing graduate, scored 39 goals for the Hornets to go along with 16 assists last season, both second-most on the team. She was named Third-Team All-ODAC.

Rossi is majoring in athletic training. She appeared in two games as a junior, scoring a pair of goals in 2013.

Bossert, a senior studying communication studies and Spanish/international relations, started all 16 games in the cage for the Hornets. She made 141 saves for Lynchburg while scooping 24 ground balls.

Brockley is studying art and graphic design. The senior appeared in two games in 2013, netting a pair of goals for LC.

Gadsby, a graduate of the sport management program, played in 12 games for the Hornets while providing senior leadership in 2014. She scored three goals on the year while corralling nine ground balls.

The Hornets finished the 2014 season with a record of 7-9 (6-4 ODAC).
