Lynchburg defeated Southwestern 17-1 Monday night, drawing their Spring Break trip in the Lone Star state to a close. The Hornets depart Georgetown with a perfect 2-0 record and combined 36 goals against Wittenberg and Southwestern (Tex.).

Game Breakdown

- Sophomore Alicia Sandoval continued her scoring ways just a minute and a half into the game when she put the Hornets up 1-0

- Senior Lauren Meisner scored an unassisted goal at the 22:33 mark to grow the Lynchburg lead by two

- Junior Sarah Suter made it 3-0 after junior Sidney Gleason assisted the goal

- The goals kept coming when junior Dorrie MacGregor made it 4-0 just a minute later

- On a free position shot, sophomore Kelsey Nock made it 5-0 with 19:43 left in the half

- The remainder of the half saw six more Hornet goals from Sandoval, senior Alexa Carey, Suter, sophomore Kaleigh Ridgley, and sophomore Allie O'Leary to give Lynchburg a 11-0 lead at the break

- Southwestern would get its lone goal at the 23:12 mark in the second half

- Suter would add here third goal of the game with 18:07 left in regulation, with Meisner being credited with the assist

- Five different Lynchburg players would score the remaining goals to give the Hornets a 17-1 victory

- Sandoval scored four goals while recording four assists giving the attackman nine goals and six assists in the last two games

- 11 different Lynchburg players found the back of the net in the victory
