Frostburg, Md. -- The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team dominated Frostburg State, 19-8, Saturday afternoon to earn its first win of the 2018 campaign.
Eight of the Hornets were able to contribute to the win. Sophomore midfielder Danielle Hook (Alexandria, Va.) led the team with a career-high four goals and two ground balls. Junior attackman Alicia Sandoval (Montclair, Va.) and sophomore attackman Carly Sandler (Kennebunk, Maine) each collected three goals and combined five assists. Senior midfielder Dorrie MacGregor (Centreville, Md.) gained 10 ground balls, two goals, and one assist.
Frostburg State's Morgan Cavey scored four goals and one assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets dominated the game early, scoring the first three goals. Frostburg State responded with two of the next three goals, but Lynchburg scored the next eight goals to go into halftime with a 12-2 advantage. Senior attackman Sidney Gleason (Dumfries, Va.) tallied two goals and two assists in the first 30 minutes.
Lynchburg continued their hot streak long into the second half, collecting another seven goals to secure the 19-8 win. Hook netted a hat trick in the half.
Lynchburg will make a quick trip northeast to Reading, Pa. to take on Albright on Sunday. First draw with the Lions is set for 1 p.m.
