Hornet Women's Soccer Ranked #18 in NSCAA Pre-Season Poll

KANSAS CITY, KS – The Lynchburg College women's soccer team will begin the 2014 season ranked #18 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Pre-Season Division III Top 25 poll.

Defending champion William Smith College (NY) is ranked first in the nation, followed by national runner-up Trinity University (TX). No other Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) or Division III school in the state of Virginia is ranked.

The Hornets ended the 2013 campaign with their fourth-straight ODAC title and a trip to the NCAA tournament. LC finished with a 22-2 record while setting the school single-season record for wins, goals, and points. Lynchburg led the nation with 4.63 goals per match.  

Lynchburg begins the 2014 season by hosting the four-team, two-day Shellenberger Classic, starting Friday, August 29 with Roanoke College facing Averett University at 5 p.m. and LC squaring off with Southern Virginia University at 7 p.m.
