Greenwood, Ind. -- Lynchburg College senior women's soccer player Emily Maxwell (Quantico, Va.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America's NCAA Division III District 5 Academic All-District team.

District 5 includes all Division III programs in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Maxwell, an exercise physiology major, has excelled both on the field and in the classroom over the last four seasons, accruing two All-America nods, all while maintaining a 3.91 GPA.

Earlier this week, Maxwell earned her second Old Dominion Athletic Conference player of the year award and her fourth first-team All-ODAC nod. She's helped lead the Hornets to three ODAC championships and wins in the last three NCAA Division III tournaments, including the 2014 national championship.

Maxwell and the LC team will begin another NCAA title quest this weekend in Newport News, Va., where they will face McDaniel in the first round on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

With her selection to the All-District team, Maxwell will be eligible for CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams. The Division III Academic All-America teams will be released Tuesday, Dec. 5.
