LC Women's Tennis Wins 7-2 Over Virginia Wesleyan College

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis team competed against Virginia Wesleyan College on Sunday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play winning 7-2.

Freshman Melissa Drinkard teamed up with sophomore Betsy Stipa garnering an 8-4 victory at #1 doubles, while senior Berry Morse and sophomore Hailey Bettencourt won by default at #3 doubles.

Sophomore Kelsey Bergen notched a victory at #1 singles 6-4, 6-1 and Drinkard took #2 singles 3-6, 6-0, 6-2. Stipa competed at #3 singles, edging out the Marlins 6-2, 6-2 and freshman Madison Dixon won 8-6 at #5 singles. Bettencourt picked up a win by default at #6 singles.

The Hornet women (4-8/2-6 ODAC) will travel to face Randolph-Macon College in conference play on Tuesday, April 10 at 4 p.m.
