LC Women Drop Tough Decision on Senior Day

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's tennis team faced off against the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action on Tuesday for Senior Day, dropping the match 8-1.

Betsy Stipa stepped up for LC at #2 singles and took a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Stipa also competed at #1 doubles with Melissa Drinkard, winning three games overall. The Hornets had to default the matches at #3 doubles and #6 singles due to injury.

The Hornet women celebrated Senior Day by honoring Kelsey Bergen. The lone senior on the team, Bergen was unable to compete on Tuesday but contributed a solid campaign prior to a missing action due to an injury suffered early in the ODAC season.

LC (1-11/0-11 ODAC) will be back in action for their final match of the year when they will travel to face Shenandoah University in ODAC play on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
