Lynchburg Volleyball Comes Back to Defeat EMU 3-2

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team trailed in each set, but managed to come back to win in five, 21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 15-25, 15-12 against Eastern Mennonite University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action Wednesday night.

The Hornets trailed in all five games, winning the second after falling behind 16-12 before staring down a 10-8 deficit in game four.

Lynchburg trailed 10-8 in game five before pulling away for the victory. The Hornets tied it on a pair of kills by Sierra Strathy before a service ace from Brittany Crawford gave LC an 11-10 lead. Two EMU attack errors gave the Hornets the 13-10 advantage where they wrapped it up four points later.

Aricquel Payne led the Hornets with 17 kills while Strathy and Amanda Perry added 14 and 13 respectively. Mackenzie Ross had 29 assists while Gabby Myers poured in 25. Sam Page led LC with 24 digs.

Kayley Argenbright and Rebecca Hardy had 13 kills each for EMU (9-12/2-5) while Dani Driver had a match-high 42 assists.

Lynchburg (9-11/4-3) hosts Virginia Wesleyan College (11-8/4-2) Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
